Background

Rod got his start as a research scientist for Westinghouse Electric Company during the heyday of nuclear power in the late naughts and early teens. It was there that he began working on danger sensors for the DOD. He soon formed his own spin-off company to pursue long ranged detection of explosives and special nuclear materials. His company, CR&D, has hit it big as a military contractor.

The technology for detecting SNM had other applications, however, and further research eventually led to a revolution in transportation techniques, namely contra gravity. It is that that secured Rod's substantial fortune.

But Rod grew dissatisfied with his DOD contracts. The technologies he was developing were more widely applicable to homeland defense than their classified techniques allowed. Now Rod intends to use these danger sensors himself, to prevent terrorist bombings in the Pittsburgh area.

In addition to fighting terrorism, Rod is working on a danger sensor to detect cancer. Rod recently married Brandy Lois Kirk, and they have one daughter, Sara.
